  • Easy Trends For Bathroom Rental Suite

As a landlord you want your place to stand out in the sea of rental properties, and not in a bad way. Easy trends for your bathroom rental suite may just pay off. You want something that your potential renter will remember about your place when they are deciding which rental property to apply for.

Let’s face it we spend a lot of time in our bathrooms. The bathroom is a good place to start and will give you a good return on your investment. If you leave the green sink and pink tiling in your bathroom you won’t be as likely to compete with the new basement suite down the block. Suite Builder can help you renovate your basement suite to bring it back up to date.

    Paint Trends

An easy way to bring your bathroom up to date is to choose a color that is trending right now. Suite Builder can help with the up coming colors. It is a really quick way to refresh the bathroom. You may choose two complimentary colors to make one wall a different color. Another idea is to have the color above the bathtub a different color. The shinier the paint the easier it is to clean and block out moisture.

    New Mirror

An easy bathroom trend is to replace that old medicine cabinet with a new mirror. Gone are the days of the old oversized ugly medicine cabinet in a bathroom. If replacing your medicine cabinet isn’t in your budget you could breath new life into the old medicine cabinet by putting a picture frame around the mirror. This way you don’t have to replace the inside of the cabinet. If the cabinet is off to the side you could put a picture over it as well. Another easy bathroom trend is to put a large round mirror in place of the old mirror that spanned the entire wall of the vanity. Putting an oversized mirror in a small bathroom gives you the illusion of a larger space.

    Open Shelving

An easy bathroom trend that is very affordable is to have some open shelving in your bathroom. Above the toilet or on a wall. Choose a medium that works best for your new bathroom makeover. Put some plants on the shelf and a few apothecary jars with items you use all the time. Open shelving can also be used for a small bathroom instead of putting in bathroom cabinets.

    New Fixtures

The good old Hollywood light fixtures are washed up like the old movie star. Brass and gold are making a come back. However, its not the old brass we are trying to get rid of, it’s a beautiful warm brass and gold color. Lighting needs to be functional and look good at the same time. Home owners are getting creative and using light bars, sconces and even pendant lighting in the bathroom.

    Towel Hooks

Towel hooks are a great way to save some space and up date your bathroom. You could have hooks at different levels or in places where a towel bar wouldn’t fit. There are lots of fun things to use for towel hooks like old door knobs, large wooden clothes pegs, and double hooks made of metal. If you are looking for more of an elegant look you could go with some very nice warm brass hooks.

Whether or not you have a great feature to offer in your rental suite, like an open concept, or a great backyard, you want to be able to ad some easy trends to your rental property. If you plan your basement suite with good classic features and add a few things that are trendy you will potentially attract people looking for a nice place to live.
